SECI declares list of winners for 750 MW of JNNSM Phase II bidding
Companies like Acme, SEI & Azure included in the 100MW league

After the October bids were shifted to February, SECI now finally come out with a official list of winners for its 750MW of project bids for JNNSM Phase II. The Phase II bids were distributed through two main categories - Part A for Open Category and Part B for DCR with an upper limit of 100 MW capacity for each company and its subsidiaries.
Companies like Acme earned 80MW capacity in the open category, whereas Acme’s subsidiary companies Ranji Solar Energy & Medha Energy bags 20MW through the DCR category. Other companies in the 100MW league were SEI and Azure. However Tata’s seems to be missing in the action. The total VGF allocated to companies is approx. 1200crores.
Commenting on the occasion, Mr. Manoj Kumar Upadhyay, Chairman, ACME Solar said, “The success of the phase II of JNNSM is a momentous occasion for all stakeholders in achieving the goal of clean & green energy. We thank the Solar Energy Corporation of India and look forward to support from all stakeholders to help us actively contribute in achieving the target of generating 22,000 MW solar power by year 2022. Also, emergence of ACME Solar in the bid has further strengthened our position as the leading solar power producer in the country.”
ACME Solar is a three-way joint venture between ACME, EDF Energies Nouvelles (EDF EN), the renewable energy arm of French state-run electricity utility Électricité de France S.A., and Luxembourg-based natural resources saving group EREN.
The joint venture has an existing portfolio of 67.5 MW and on way to have solar power generation portfolio of 1000 MW by the year 2017.
