Multi-conglomerate Salasar Techno Engineering Ltd has recently been awarded new projects worth Rs 238.65 crore from the state-owned Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd (PGCIL).
The newly bagged project includes the construction of a 201 Km transmission line network and 4 new power substations in the North-Eastern state of Arunachal Pradesh.
Salasar Techno Engineering offers engineering, procurement, and control services for electrification, power transmission lines, and solar power plants.
The transmission line network will be of 132KV type and the substations will be of the extra high voltage capacity. As per the project, the company will also be responsible for supply, construction, erection, testing and commissioning of transmission towers and substations.
Commenting on winning the project, Shashank Agarwal, MD of Salasar said, “we are proud to receive this project from PGCIL that aligns with our continued effort towards the growth of India’s dynamic infrastructure space. We are also thankful to PGCIL for putting their trust in our experience and offerings, thereby awarded us with the contract. We look forward to seamless completion of the project and working on similar opportunities in the future.”
PGCIL has floated the tender for the project a few months ago and Salasar participated with offerings at competitive prices. The execution of the project will start by next month and is estimated to be completed by 24 months.
Notably, Salasar has successfully executed similar projects for UPPCL, HVPNL (Haryana), PTCUL (UK), HPPTCL (HP) and other government entities in the past few years. Additionally, the company is also executing a similar project in the Assam region to support the nation’s vision on developing North-Eastern states.
PGCIL is the country’s largest electric power transmission utility (public) and is engaged mainly in the transmission of bulk power across different states of the country.
