Saint-Gobain to Expand Facility in Georgia

France-based manufacturer Saint-Gobain, through its building products subsidiary CertainTeed, announced plans to invest $100 Million over a course of two to three years to expand its CertainTeed roofing shingle manufacturing facility in Peachtree City, Georgia.

This extension in Peachtree City will expand the facility by 65,000 square feet in manufacturing and warehouse space and it comes a few months after Saint-Gobain announced its global Grow and Impact strategy, consisting of expansion of presence in key, fast-growing markets.

The project will receive more than $5 Million in support from state and local tax incentives over the next decade.

The company’s expansion in Peachtree City comes only weeks after the announcement of a $118.8 Million expansion of the CertainTeed Roofing plant in Oxford, NC. Additionally, Saint-Gobain ADFORS last week announced an expansion at its facility in Dublin, Georgia.

The CertainTeed Peachtree City plant, which commenced operations in 1976, is situated on 23 acres in Fayette County. Currently.  The plant employs 83 individuals. Due to this expansion, at least 27 new full-time operations jobs will be created.
