Saint Gobain Inks PPA with Vibrant Energy for 189 GW of Solar and Wind Power

The 20-year PPA will commence delivery in the year 2024 and strive the renewable electricity contribution in India to 65 percent in the year 2025.

Saint-Gobain has inked a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) in India with Vibrant Energy – a portfolio company of Macquarie Asset Management's Green Investment Group (MAM-GIG) to facilitate wind-solar electricity to 6 local Saint-Gobain sites.

The 20-year PPA will commence delivery in the year 2024 and strive the renewable electricity contribution in India to 65 percent in the year 2025.

Through this agreement, Vibrant Energy will provide Saint-Gobain with 189 GWh of renewable electricity (solar and wind) annually, therefore minimising Saint-Gobain's CO2 emissions in India by around 120,000 tonnes every year.

With wide-ranging initiatives including the replacement of fossil fuels with biomass, waste heat recovery and reuse, and circularity actions, Saint-Gobain is moving to attain 100% renewable electricity in India by 2030.
