Repsol has initiated the supply of 100% renewable diesel at three service stations located in Madrid, Barcelona, and Lisbon (Portugal).
The plan is to deploy 50 service stations that will be supplying advanced biofuel by the end of the year in the major transport corridors of the Iberian Peninsula.
Repsol's Customer General Manager, Valero Marín, stated, "This launch exemplifies, once again, our commitment to the decarbonisation of transport that we want to involve our customers in. At Repsol, we continue to take decisive steps to lead the commitment to renewable fuels in the Iberian Peninsula".
The multi-energy company sustains a strong commitment to renewable fuels, which is one of the main parts of Repsol's strategy to run the decarbonisation of transport and attain its objective of becoming a zero-net emissions company by 2050.
The first Repsol service stations to offer these renewable fuels are situated in Mercamadrid (Madrid), Esparraguera (Barcelona), and Alcochete (Lisbon region).
To decarbonize mobility, Repsol strives for an energy model that amalgamates electrification, renewable fuels, and hydrogen.
Renewable fuels are those manufactured from renewable organic raw materials. Particularly, advanced biofuels consist of organic waste like used vegetable oils, animal fats, agricultural and forestry residues or remains that are not consumed for food.
