RenewSys, a manufacturer of PV Modules, Encapsulants and Backsheets, brings about a shift in the solar panel manufacturing space with its new and improved EVA Encapsulant. This latest technological achievement was engineered with a purpose - to tackle a long standing issue that impacted the lifespan of solar modules.
Corrosion of the metal parts of the cell and aging delamination is now avoidable with the Anti-Acid EVA Encapsulant, designed to inhibit the formation of acetic acid. This innovation is raising the bar for performance and durability in the industry, particularly for advanced module technologies like TOPCon.
“Over the decades, EVA has been the workhorse Encapsulant for solar modules," explains Avinash Hiranandani, Vice Chairman and Managing Director at RenewSys. "However, the industry has always grappled with the issue of acetic acid formation over the service of PV modules, which corrodes the metal components of the cells and connectors, ultimately reducing its performance and lifespan.”
The Anti-Acid EVA Encapsulant from RenewSys directly addresses this critical pain point. Its unique material composition includes acid-neutralizing and inhibiting properties that prevent the formation of acetic acid, safeguarding the module's integrity.
Avinash Hiranandani elaborates, “Our innovative formulation represents a significant leap forward in Encapsulant technology. It is specifically designed to protect against acetic acid, a common cause of degradation in solar modules. This is especially crucial for newer technologies like TOPCon, which are more sensitive to chemical and moisture ingress.”
RenewSys is the first and only Indian manufacturer of this specialized Anti-Acid EVA Encapsulant. This positions RenewSys as a leader in innovation and quality within the Indian solar manufacturing landscape. RenewSys is committed to reducing the degradation rate of a module during its lifetime, and this latest invention is a bold step in the direction of increasing modular efficiency.
