ReNew, ACME Solar and Adani Green Energy Win SECI’s 1000 MW Solar Auction
ReNew (250 MW), ACME Solar (300 MW) and Adani Green Energy (50 MW) have emerged as winners in Solar Energy Corporation of India’s auction for 1,000 MW ISTS-connected solar projects.

Solar Energy Corporation of India Ltd.’s (SECI) auction for 1,000 MW of ISTS-connected solar projects has attracted an L1 tariff of INR 3.04/kWh. However, only 600 MW of capacity was awarded.
ReNew Solar Power emerged as the L1 bidder and was awarded a capacity of 250 MW. ACME Solar won 300 MW at a tariff of INR 3.05/kWh. Adani Renewable Energy Holdings Twelve (Adani Green Energy) won the remaining 50 MW at a tariff of INR 3.10/kWh.
The tender for this was floated in September 2024.
The tender document specified that prospective bidders can place only one bid with a minimum capacity of 50 MW and a maximum of 500 MW.
The solar power developers (SPD) will be required to set up ISTS-connected solar PV power projects, including the transmission network up to the interconnection/delivery point with the primary objective of supplying solar power to SECI.
The tender document specified that bidders who have already been granted connectivity at any existing ISTS substation with a start date of connectivity on or before June 30, 2025, only were allowed to participate.
It, however, offered the bidders the flexibility for co-located or distributed renewable components, including storage. The project may be located anywhere in India.
It also allowed partial commissioning starting at 50 MW for the initial phase.
The tender mandates the use of solar modules listed in the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy's Approved List of Models and Manufacturers.
