Renault Nissan Automotive Accelerates Towards Carbon Neutrality Goal
In an official statement, Renault Nissan Automotive Pvt Ltd (RNAIPL) said it was running toward attaining its 2045 Carbon Neutrality goal and would likely go beyond significant milestones by 2030.

Automobile maker Renault Nissan Automotive India Pvt Ltd is accelerating towards its Carbon Neutrality goal which was introduced earlier this year.
At the Chennai plant, the company already initiated a campaign to replace single-use plastic items with eco-friendly alternatives.
In an official statement, Renault Nissan Automotive Pvt Ltd (RNAIPL) said it was running toward attaining its 2045 Carbon Neutrality goal and would likely go beyond significant milestones by 2030.
As per a statement corresponding with the World Environment Day observed on June 5, every year, the path to reach carbon neutrality circumscribes three areas --increasing of share of green energy, assertively upgrading efficiencies in energy usage, and constant adoption of energy efficiency technology at its Oragadam plant.
As of FY 2022-23, the company's strategy has permitted the auto manufacturer to diminish the equivalent of 87,500 tonnes of CO2 emissions yearly.
Keerthi Prakash, company Managing Director added, "At RNAIPL, our unwavering commitment to environmental responsibility is imprinted in everything we do. We have set ourselves on an ambitious roadmap to Carbon Neutrality by 2045 and this goal underlies our drive towards utilization of more green energy, optimization of energy consumption".
The Chennai plant presently sources nearly 60 percent of its electricity from renewable sources.
The plant would augment its in-house solar plant capacity from 2.2MW to 14 MW through the surplus installation of rooftop solar panels and floating solar panels on the plant's pond by 2026.
