Reliance Industries Secures INR 8 Crore Transmission Projects in Gujarat from RECPDCL
Reliance Industries Ltd. has approved the acquisition of a 100 percent equity stake in Lakadia B Power Transmission Ltd. for up to INR 8 crore from REC Power Development and Consultancy Ltd. to set up a transmission system to evacuate up to 3.5 GW of RE from Lakadia in Gujarat.

Reliance Industries Ltd. has announced that its Board of Directors have approved the acquisition of 100 percent equity stake of Lakadia B Power Transmission Ltd. (LPTL) from REC Power Development and Consultancy Ltd. (RECPDCL) for an aggregate consideration not exceeding INR 8 crore.
The SPV was formed for the establishment of a transmission system for augmentation of transformation capacity at 765/400kV Lakadia Substation, in Guajarat. The ISTS will evacuate up to 3.5 GW of renewable energy.
LPTL will become a wholly-owned subsidiary of the company.
The said investment will enable the Company to execute the Project at Lakadia Substation and participate in the development of transmission infrastructure in India, the company stated in a regulatory filing.
LPTL was incorporated in India on October 29, 2024, with an objective of setting up of the project and is yet to commence commercial operations.
The tender for this was floated in September 2024.
The cumulative renewable energy connectivity at Lakadia has now reached 3,500 MW under the Grid Connection Network Access (GNA), enabling the evacuation of power beyond 1 GW, scaling up to 3.5 GW from various Renewable Energy Generating Stations (REGS).
