RECPDCL and Gujarat Join Forces for INR 2,094 Crore Smart Metering Project

The INR 2,094.28 Crores agreement is earmarked for the implementation of the Smart Metering project in Paschim Gujarat Vij Company Ltd. (PGVCL) under Phase 1 of the Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme (RDSS).
In this strategic collaboration, the Government of Gujarat commits to support RECPDCL in securing necessary permissions and clearances for their upcoming projects in the state. The MoU outlines a time-bound framework that aims to expedite the establishment of RECPDCL's projects in Gujarat.
The MoU signing took place ahead of the Vibrant Gujarat Summit 2024, a testament to the commitment of both parties towards advancing the energy infrastructure in the state.
The signatories included Jai Prakash Shivahare, Managing Director of Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam (GUVNL), and Rajesh Kumar Gupta, CEO of RECPDCL, with the presence of Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel.
This collaborative effort is poised to play a pivotal role in the modernization of the power distribution system through the introduction of smart metering technology. The project aligns with the broader objectives of the RRDS, contributing to the enhancement of efficiency and reliability in the power distribution network.
The successful implementation of this venture is expected to pave the way for more sustainable and technologically advanced solutions in the power sector, fostering growth and innovation in the state of Gujarat.
