POWERGRID Sikar Transmission Commissions RE Power Evacuation Project in Rajasthan
POWERGRID Sikar Transmission Ltd. has successfully commissioned the transmission system for evacuating power from solar energy zones in Rajasthan. This project, part of Phase-II Part-C, facilitates the evacuation of 8.1 GW of solar power to the grid.

Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. (POWERGRID) has announced the successful commissioning of the transmission project implemented by its wholly owned subsidiary, POWERGRID Sikar Transmission Ltd.
The company stated in its filing that the project, secured through Tariff-Based Competitive Bidding, is part of the 'Transmission system strengthening scheme for evacuating power from solar energy zones in Rajasthan (8.1 GW) under Phase-II Part-C.' The system was fully commissioned on December 19, 2024, with the Notification for Commercial Operation (DOCO) received on January 22, 2025.
It may be mentioned that last year, in the month of December, Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stones for six POWERGRID projects and inaugurated two others in Rajasthan, with a total investment of INR 17,267 crore.
The foundation stones were laid for the POWERGRID Bikaner III Neemrana Transmission Ltd., POWERGRID Bhadla-3 Transmission Ltd., POWERGRID Sikar Khetri Transmission Ltd., POWERGRID Beawar Dausa Transmission Ltd., POWERGRID Ramgarh-II Transmission Ltd., and POWERGRID Bhadla III & Bikaner III Transmission Ltd.. These projects aim to strengthen Rajasthan's transmission infrastructure, support renewable energy evacuation, and contribute to India's renewable energy goals.
This achievement underscores POWERGRID's dedication to strengthening India's renewable energy infrastructure and ensuring the efficient evacuation of solar power from Rajasthan's energy zones.
