POWERGRID Secures 2 ISTS Projects in Karnataka and Rajasthan

POWERGRID has secured two ISTS projects under tariff-based competitive bidding, strengthening transmission infrastructure in Karnataka and Rajasthan on a BOOT basis.

Power Grid Corporation of India (POWERGRID) has announced that the company has been declared as a successful bidder under tariff-based competitive bidding for two projects to establish Inter-State Transmission Systems (ISTS) under a build, own, operate and transfer (BOOT) basis.

The first project is for the integration of Davanagere/Chitradurga and Bellary REZ in Karnataka. “The project comprises establishment of new 765/400/220 kV Pooling Sub-Station near Davangere/Chitradurga and a new 400/220 kV Pooling Sub-Station near Bellary along with 765 kV and 400 kV D/C Transmission Lines and upgradation works for existing sub-station and transmission line,” the company shared in a regulatory filing further adding that the entire scope of works is situated in Karnataka.

The second project is for augmentation at Fatehgarh-II PS, Fatehgarh-IV PS (Section II) and Barmer-I PS. “The project comprises ICT augmentation works at existing and under-construction sub-stations in Rajasthan,” it said.

The Letter of Intent (LoI) for the respective projects have been received by POWERGRID on February 17, 2025.
