POWERGRID Receives LoI for ISTS Project to Evacuate 3.5 GW RE Power from Rajasthan

Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. has secured an INR 5,846 crore project to establish an inter-state transmission system for evacuating 3.5 GW of renewable energy from Rajasthan's REZ Phase IV on a BOOT basis.

Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. (POWERGRID) has announced that the company has received the letter of intent for establishing an inter-state transmission system to evacuate 3.5 GW RE power from Rajasthan REZ Ph-IV (Part-4: 3.5 GW): Part A on build, own, operate and transfer (BOOT) basis.

This is part of a transmission scheme for the evacuation of power from Fatehgarh/Barmer Complex in Rajasthan for which POWEGRID emerged as the successful bidder under a tariff-based competitive bidding process. The estimated cost of the project is INR 5,846 crore (NCT estimations).

The project comprises of establishment of 765/400kV sub-station at a suitable location near Ghiror in Mainpuri district in the State of Uttar Pradesh, 765kV and 400kV transmission lines traversing in the States of Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh, augmentation and bay extension works at under-construction and existing sub-stations in the States of Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh.
