POWERGRID Acquires 2 Transmission Projects in Rajasthan for INR 36.94 Crore
Power Grid Corporation of India has acquired to transmission project SPVs to evacuate 6 GW of renewable energy from Rajasthan REZ Ph-IV (Part-3) [Bikaner complex] at a combined value of INR 36.94 crore from REC Power Development and Consultancy Ltd. (RECPDCL).

State-owned Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. (POWERGRID) has announced that it has acquired two transmissions projects in Rajasthan at a combined cost of INR 36.94 crore. The projects have been secured through tariff based competitive bidding, POWERGRID said in two separate exchange filings.
“POWERGRID has acquired ‘Bikaner A Power Transmission Ltd.’, the Project SPV to establish ‘Transmission system for evacuation of power from Rajasthan REZ Ph-IV (Part-3: 6 GW) [Bikaner complex]: Part A, on build, own, operate and transfer (BOOT) basis from the Bid Process Coordinator – REC Power Development and Consultancy Ltd. (RECPDCL),” said POWERGRID in an exchange filing.
It further informed that BATPL was acquired for an aggregate value of about INR 18.47 crore including 50,000 equity shares at par at INR 10 each along with assets and liabilities of BAPTL as on the acquisition date.
“The project comprises establishment of new 765/400/220kV Bikaner IV Pooling substation along with STATCOM and other equipment, 765kV D/C Transmission Line traversing in the states of Rajasthan and Haryana, various 400kV D/C Transmission Lines traversing through the States of Rajasthan, Punjab and Haryana along with bays extension works for the above lines at other existing substations in the State of Haryana and Punjab,” it said.
POWERGRID, in another exchange filing informed that it has also acquired another Project SPV Bikaner B Power Transmission Ltd. from RECPDCL at an aggregate value of about INR 18.47 crore.
“The project comprises establishment of new 765/400kV Siwani sub-station along with STATCOM and other equipment, 765kV D/C Transmission Line traversing in the States of Rajasthan and Haryana, various 400kV D/C Transmission Lines traversing through the State of Haryana along with bays extension works for the above lines at other existing substations in the State of Rajasthan and Haryana,” said POWERGRID.
