Polycab Exhibits Cutting-Edge Range of Solar Products at Intersolar India 2024
Polycab showcased inverters, solar panels, and solar DC cables at the event. The Company offers inverters catering to residential, commercial & industrial solar projects from KW to MW scale.

In an Exclusive Interview with Energetica India, Nikunj Mathur, National Sales Head (Solar), Polycab said, “We are one of the leading manufacturers of cables and wires in India. Apart from a stellar line-up of wires and cables, we have made inroads into the highly competitive FMEG market, with products like fans, LED lighting and luminaires, switches and switchgear, home appliances, solar products and conduits & accessories.”

Talking about the solar energy-centric products, he said, “We ventured into solar in 2012 with the manufacturing of solar DC cables. Extending our foray into the solar field, we added solar on-grid inverters to our product basket in 2016. We have a range from 2 kW to 110 kW and in that, 2 kW to 5 kW range is the single phase. We are showcasing 100 kW inverter during the event and have launched 125 kW inverter in the market which, we are confident of capturing good market share. In panels, we have monocrystalline and polycrystalline in our basket. In the monocrystalline segment, we are supplying DCR as well as non-DCR ranging from 500 W to 550 W.”When asked about the unique features of solar cables, Mathur replied, “Solar cable is the next essential item after inverters and panels in the solar industry. Normally, in cables, we use XLPE and PVC but in solar cable, tinned copper is used along with the cross-linked compound which makes it different from other cables. The curing process is also different in solar cables. At Polycab, we have the right facility for that.”
