Prime Minister Narendra Modi will lay the foundation stone for NTPC Green Energy Ltd's (NGEL) Green Hydrogen Hub at Pudimadaka in the Anakapalle district of Andhra Pradesh on November 29, 2024, during his scheduled visit to the state.
Touted as India’s largest Green Hydrogen Hub, the project was announced by Andhra Pradesh’s Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu during the ongoing Assembly sessions.
As part of India’s Green Hydrogen Mission, launched in 2021 with a target of producing 5 million metric tons of green hydrogen annually by 2030, this hub represents a significant milestone. Spanning 1,600 acres, the Pudimadaka Green Hydrogen Hub will establish Andhra Pradesh as a green energy powerhouse and position India as a global leader in the green hydrogen economy.
With an approximate investment of INR 1,85,000 crore, the hub will produce 1,500 tonnes of green hydrogen daily, along with 4,500 tonnes of green ammonia, 1,500 tonnes of green methanol, and 1,500 tonnes of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) or green urea, making it one of the largest such facilities in the world.
