PM Modi Inaugurates INR 7,400 Crore Solar and Transmission Projects in Rajasthan
PM Modi commended the people of Rajasthan for the monumental development projects, highlighting their potential to generate employment opportunities and foster economic growth in the state.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the 'Viksit Bharat Viksit Rajasthan' program via video conferencing, marking a significant stride in Rajasthan's development trajectory. With a focus on multiple sectors, including Roads, Railways, Solar Energy, Power Transmission, Drinking Water, and Petroleum & Natural Gas, the PM inaugurated, dedicated to the nation, and laid the foundation stone for projects amounting to over INR 17,000 crore.
In his address, PM Modi commended the people of Rajasthan for the monumental development projects, highlighting their potential to generate employment opportunities and foster economic growth in the state. He underscored the pivotal role of a developed Rajasthan in realizing the vision of a developed India.
Emphasizing the government's commitment to promoting solar energy production, PM Modi outlined initiatives such as the PM Surya Ghar Yojna, aimed at providing free electricity through solar panels on household terraces. He talked about the financial allocation of INR 75,000 crores for setting up solar panels on one crore households, with a focus on benefiting the middle and lower-middle-class segments. Notably, Rajasthan is set to witness the installation of solar panels in 5 lakh households as part of this initiative.
In a bid to bolster renewable energy infrastructure, PM Modi laid the foundation stone and inaugurated key solar projects worth approximately INR 5300 crores in Rajasthan. These include the NLCIL Barsingsar Solar Project, a 300 MW Solar Power Project near Barsingsar Thermal Power Station. The solar project is being set up with the latest state-of-the-art technology with high-efficiency bifacial modules manufactured in India in line with Aatmanirbhar Bharat. He laid the foundation stone of the 300 MW Solar Power project of NHPC Ltd. under CPSU Scheme Phase-II (Tranche -III), also to be developed at Bikaner Rajasthan.
The Prime Minister also dedicated to the nation the 300 MW NTPC Green Energy Limited Nokhra Solar PV Project, developed in Bikaner Rajasthan. The solar projects will generate green power, help offset Carbon dioxide emissions, and lead to economic development of the region.
Furthering the nation's energy objectives, PM Modi dedicated power transmission sector projects exceeding INR 2100 crores in Rajasthan. These initiatives are designed to enhance the evacuation of power from solar energy zones, facilitating the transmission of solar-generated electricity to beneficiaries.
The projects include the Transmission System Strengthening Scheme for evacuation of power from solar energy zones in Rajasthan (8.1 GW) under Phase-II Part A; Transmission System Strengthening Scheme for evacuation of power from solar energy zones in Rajasthan (8.1 GW) under Phase-II Part-B1; and Transmission System for providing connectivity to RE projects at Bikaner (PG), Fatehgarh-II & Bhadla–II.
