The Odisha Renewable Energy Development Agency (OREDA) has initiated a significant step towards enhancing solar-powered cold storage infrastructure by issuing an empanelment tender for the commissioning of 38 ten metric-tonnes (MT) solar cold storage units.
The selected bidders for this project are mandated to provide comprehensive maintenance for five years.
Notably, the potential scope of the project could expand to include up to 100 units, and the price bid submitted by the selected bidders will be valid for one year.
Key details of the tender include a submission deadline set for December 20, 2023, with bid openings scheduled for December 22. As part of the bidding process, interested parties must furnish a bid security of INR 2.4 million (~USD 28,798).
The specifications for the solar cold storage units outline a configuration of 200' by 8' by 8' (LxWxH), featuring varying solar capacities of 10 kW, 14 kW, or 7 kW. Additionally, the modules utilized should have a minimum capacity of 300 Wp.
Selected bidders are required to submit 10 percent of the total project cost as a performance guarantee, and the cold storage systems must come with a five-year warranty. Furthermore, the modules used in the units should be warranted for their output peak watt capacity, not falling below 90 percent at the end of 10 years and 80 percent at the end of 25 years.
To qualify for bidding, interested parties must demonstrate a cumulative experience in executing contracts for the supply of at least 10 solar cold storage systems of any capacity to government entities, public sector undertakings, or registered cooperative societies in the last five years.
Additionally, bidders should boast an average annual turnover of INR 50 million (~USD 599,959) specifically from solar cold storage business over the last three years, supported by a certified turnover certificate from a chartered accountant.
