Octopus Energy Signs MoU with LONGi to Launch Solar Energy Partnership

As part of this deal, the two companies have agreed to lay the groundwork to add LONGi to Octopus’s list of preferred suppliers.

Octopus Energy’s generation arm and LONGi, have signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to kickstart an upcoming partnership. As part of this deal, the two companies have agreed to lay the groundwork to add LONGi to Octopus’s list of preferred suppliers.

The agreement was signed during a visit of Octopus Energy Generation’s leadership team to LONGi’s headquarters in Shanghai. The two green energy companies will negotiate a solar panel supply agreement for Octopus to procure solar panels at speed and at scale for solar farm projects in the coming years.

Commenting on the partnership, Zoisa North-Bond, CEO of Octopus Energy Generation, said, “China’s rapid progress in accelerating the roll-out of green energy is nothing short of remarkable. Partnering with a world-leading company like LONGi will help turbocharge solar projects around the world and ensure they are affordable due to LONGi’s scale and size. We look forward to working together to create a cheaper, greener, and more secure energy system for everyone.”

LONGi, a supplier of solar wafers and modules has been a world leader in pushing the boundaries in creating high-quality solar technology, having developed efficient, reliable, and cost-effective solutions for solar projects.

Octopus Energy Generation - one of Europe’s largest specialist renewables investors managing USD 9 billion of projects - has over 150 solar farm investments in six countries and is developing new projects globally. This latest agreement will help Octopus continue to scale at an unprecedented pace.
