O2 Power has entered into a 100 MW Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with East Central Railways (ECR) for its railway operations.

Under the agreement, O2 Power will supply round-the-clock (RTC) renewable energy sourced from its 360 MW capacity located across Rajasthan, Gujarat, and Karnataka to support ECR’s operations, reducing its carbon footprint.

Commenting on the development, Parag Sharma, Founder and CEO of O2 Power, stated, “This PPA with ECR is a significant step in enabling Indian Railways to go green. At O2 Power, we are proud to contribute to this transformative journey by ensuring a round-the-clock (RTC) supply of clean energy to the grid.”

O2 Power’s renewable energy portfolio with a total capacity of over 6 GW, spans multiple states and plays a major role in supporting India’s target of achieving 500 GW of non-fossil fuel capacity by 2030. The collaboration also aligns with the country’s goal of reaching net-zero emissions by 2070.

O2 Power is an Indian renewable energy platform owned by EQT Infrastructure and Temasek to establish 4+ GW of renewable energy assets through utility-scale and C&I projects in India with a total equity commitment of up to USD 500m over the next 5 years.
