NTPC REL Commence Commercial Operation of 25 MW Second Part of Solar PV Project in Gujarat

NTPC Renewable Energy Ltd., a step-down subsidiary of NTPC Ltd., has commenced commercial operation of 25 MW, the second part of its 200 MW solar PV project in Sadla, Gujarat. The first part of 37.50 MW was operationalised in December 2024.

NTPC Ltd. has announced that its step-down subsidiary NTPC Renewable Energy Ltd. has commissioned the second part capacity of 25 MW out of 200 MW solar PV project in Sadla, Gujarat.

“We wish to inform you that on the basis of information received from NTPC Green Energy Ltd. on January 19, 2025, Second part capacity of 25 MW out of 200 MW Gujarat Solar PV Project in Sadla, Gujarat of NTPC Renewable Energy Ltd. (NTPC REL), a stepdown subsidiary of NTPC Ltd. through its subsidiary NTPC Green Energy Ltd., is declared on commercial operation with effect from January 17, 2025,” the company informed in a regulatory filing.

It further added that the first part capacity of 37.5 MW has already been declared on commercial operation with effect from December 21, 2024.

With this, the total installed and commercial capacity of NTPC group has now become 76,733.18 MW.

Earlier this month, NTPC Green Energy Ltd. (NGEL) and Uttar Pradesh Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Ltd. (UPRVUNL) announced the formation a joint venture, NTPC UP Green Energy Ltd., to develop, operate, and maintain renewable energy parks and projects.

In a similar move, in November 2024, NTPC Green Energy formed a 50:50 joint venture with Maharashtra State Power Generation Company Ltd. (MAHAGENCO). The JV entity will develop, operate and maintain renewable energy parks in Maharashtra.

In December 2024, NTPC REL started commercial operation of 30 MW out of 150 MW Gujarat solar PV project in Mesanka, Gujarat.

In November 2024, NTPC REL commenced commercial operation of the first 55 MW phase of its 105 MW Shajapur solar project in Madhya Pradesh.

NTPC aims to achieve 50 percent non-fossil fuel-based power generation capacity and 60 GW of renewable energy capacity in its portfolio by 2032.
