NTPC REL Announces COD of Second Part of Solar Projects in Rajasthan and MP
NTPC REL has announced commercial operation of 60 MW in Jaisalmer's Bhainsara project and 50 MW in Shajapur, Madhya Pradesh. With this, NTPC Group's total installed capacity reaches 76,708.18 MW.

NTPC Renewable Energy Ltd. (NTPC REL), a subsidiary of NTPC Green Energy Ltd., has announced the commercial operation of additional capacities in two major solar power projects.
As per the certificate dated 09.01.2025 issued by the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI), the second part capacity of 60 MW from the 320 MW Bhainsara Solar PV Project, located in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan, was declared operational on January 7, 2025. This follows the first part, with a capacity of 160 MW, which was declared operational on August 28, 2024.
Additionally, the second part capacity of 50 MW from the 220 MW Shajapur Solar Project (Unit II) in Shajapur, Madhya Pradesh, was declared operational from January 10, 2025. The first part capacity of 50 MW from this project was earlier declared operational on September 30, 2024. Both of these solar projects are part of NTPC REL’s expanding renewable energy portfolio, which aims to contribute significantly to India’s clean energy goals.
With the successful commissioning of these additional capacities, NTPC Group’s total installed and commercial capacity now stands at 76,708.18 MW.
