NTPC Invites Bids for 1200 MW Solar Projects with 600 MW/2400 MWh Energy Storage Systems
NTPC has issued a tender for the selection of solar power generators for setting up of 1200 MW ISTS-connected solar PV power projects with 600 MW/2400 MWh (600 MW x 4 hours) energy storage systems (ESS) anywhere in India. Bid submission ends on March 13, 2025.

NTPC has floated a tender for the selection of solar power generators for setting up of 1200 MW ISTS-connected solar PV power projects with 600 MW/2400 MWh (600 MW x 4 hours) energy storage systems (ESS) anywhere in India (solar-ess-01).
The bidder needs to develop the project on a build-own-operate (BOO) basis.
The bid document will be available for sale from February 7 – 27, 2025.
The last date for submission of bids in March 13, 2025 till 3:00 PM. The techno-commercial bids will be opened on March 13, 2025 at 3:30 PM.
Bidders need to pay INR 22,500 as a tender document fee. They also need to furnish INR 16.38 lakh/MW as an earnest money deposit (EMD).
MSEs (Micro and Small Enterprises) having UDYAM registration only are exempted from submission of cost of RfS document, processing fee and EMD.
The minimum project size will be 50 MW and in multiple of 10 MW thereafter.
The maximum capacity to be allotted to a single bidder will be 600 MW with 300 MW/1200 MWh energy storage system.
Further, ESS of at least 0.5 MW/2 MWh capacity for 1 MW project capacity must mandatorily be installed as part of the project.
