NTPC Invites Bids for 1.2 GW ISTS-Connected Wind-Solar Hybrid Power Projects
NTPC has issued a tender for the selection of hybrid power generators for the supply of 1200 MW power from ISTS-connected wind-solar hybrid power projects anywhere in India with a greenshoe option of additional capacity up to 600 MW.

NTPC has invited online bids from eligible bidders on single-stage two-envelope (i.e. Envelope-I: Technical Bid and Envelope-II: Financial Bid) with reverse auction for the selection of hybrid power generators for the supply of 1200 MW power from ISTS-connected Wind-Solar Hybrid power projects anywhere in India.
The project also has a greenshoe option for an additional capacity of up to 600 MW on a Build-Own-Operate (BOO) basis.
The sale of the tender document started on August 30, 2024, and will be closed on September 20, 2024. The last date for receipt of queries from prospective bidders and the pre-bid conference is scheduled for September 24, 2024. Bid submission closes on October 10, 2024, at 3 PM and the technical bids will be opened at 3:30 PM.
The cost of the bid document has been fixed at INR 22,500 which has to be transferred by electronic transfer/NEFT payments to NTPC’s account. All bids must be accompanied by Earnest Money Deposit (EMD) for an amount calculated at the rate of INR 11.60 Lakh per MW.
The tender document further clarified that MSEs (Micro and Small Enterprises) having UDYAM registration only are exempted from submission of the cost of RfS document, processing fee and EMD. For a consortium to be eligible for those exemptions all the members of the consortium shall be registered as MSE.
Detailing on the eligibility criteria for prospective bidders, the tender document mentioned, “The minimum project size shall be 50 MW and in multiple of 10 MW thereafter. The maximum capacity to be allotted to a single bidder shall be 600 MW, excluding additional capacity under the greenshoe option, if any.” The minimum declared CUF has been set at 30 percent.
