NTPC Green Energy Signs MoU with Bihar Government to Set Up RE Projects
NTPC Green Energy Ltd. (NGEL) has signed an MoU with the Bihar government to develop renewable energy projects, including solar installations, battery storage, and green hydrogen initiatives, during the Bihar Business Connect 2024 Summit.

The MoU was exchanged between Alok Ranjan Ghosh, Director (Industries), Government of Bihar and Bimal Gopalachari, Addl. GM (Business Development), NGEL in the presence of the Industries Minister, Nitish Mishra, Bandana Preyashi, Secretary (Industries), Government of Bihar, Sudip Nag, Regional ED (East-I), NTPC and other senior officials from the Government of Bihar, NTPC, NGEL, and other delegates.
The MoU outlines a framework for significant investments in Bihar to establish renewable energy projects, including ground-mounted and floating solar installations, battery energy storage systems, and green hydrogen mobility initiatives etc.
The Bihar government will facilitate the necessary permissions, registrations, approvals, and clearances from concerned departments, agencies, and authorities to support the projects.
At the Bihar Business Connect 2024, the renewable energy sector attracted the highest investment interest, with INR 90,734 crore proposed for 17 units out of a total investment commitment of INR INR 1.81 lakh crore.
Besides NTPC Green Energy, some of the other investors in the RE space include Adani Group, NHPC, Sun Petrochemicals, and Ashoka Buildcon.
