NTPC Green Energy, HPCL Join Hands for Renewable Energy Business

State-owned utility major NTPC’s wholly owned subsidiary NTPC Green Energy Ltd (NGEL) has recently collaborated with Indian energy giant Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd (HPCL) to jointly work for the development of renewable energy projects.

State-owned utility major NTPC’s wholly owned subsidiary NTPC Green Energy Ltd (NGEL) has recently collaborated with Indian energy giant Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd (HPCL) to jointly work for the development of renewable energy projects.
 
In this regard, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the two government entities in New Delhi for the development of renewable energy (RE) based power projects to tap business opportunities in this space and supply 400 MW of round-the-clock renewable power for requirements of HPCL.
 
Further, the MoU was signed by Neeraj Sharma, Head of Finance, NGEL and Shuvendu Gupta, Executive Director- BioFuels & Renewables, HPCL in the presence of Gurdeep Singh, CMD NTPC, C.K Mondol, Director-Commercial, NTPC, J Srinivasan, Director-Finance, NTPC, Mohit Bhargava, CEO-NGEL, D.K Sharma, Executive Director-CSP&BD, HPCL, Kushal Banerjee, CGM HPCL and Rajiv Gupta, CGM-NTPC REL.
 
This MoU marks the first step for both the organisations to collaborate and cooperate in the field of the development of RE projects which would help HPCL in meeting its clean energy commitments.
