NTPC Green Energy Forms JV with MAHAGENCO for Renewable Energy Parks in Maharashtra
NTPC Green Energy Ltd., a subsidiary of NTPC Ltd., has partnered with Maharashtra State Power Generation Company Ltd. (MAHAGENCO) to form a 50:50 joint venture, MAHAGENCO NTPC Green Energy Pvt. Ltd., for developing and managing renewable energy parks in Maharashtra.

State-owned NTPC Ltd has recently announced that its subsidiary NTPC Green Energy has formed a 50:50 joint venture with Maharashtra State Power Generation Company Ltd. (MAHAGENCO). The JV entity will develop, operate and maintain renewable energy parks in Maharashtra.
In a regulatory filing, NTPC has informed, “MAHAGENCO NTPC Green Energy Pvt. Ltd. (MNGEPL) has been incorporated on November 25, 2024 as a 50:50 joint venture of NTPC Green Energy Ltd. (NGEL), a wholly owned subsidiary of NTPC Ltd. and Maharashtra State Power Generation Company Ltd. (MAHAGENCO), a Government of Maharashtra owned company.”
It further added that MNGEPL will be engaged in the business of developing, operating and maintaining renewable energy parks in Maharashtra under Ultra Mega Renewable Energy Power Parks (UMREPP) scheme and allot parks for the development of renewable energy projects.
NGEL has subscribed 50,000 equity shares at the face value of INR 10 each.
