NTPC Green Energy and UPRVUNL Collaborate to Progress Renewable Energy Parks in Uttar Pradesh

NTPC Green Energy Ltd (NGEL), a subsidiary of NTPC Ltd, has entered into a partnership with Uttar Pradesh Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Limited (UPRVUNL) to develop renewable energy parks in Uttar Pradesh.
NGEL and UPRVUNL inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) strengthening their commitment to joint efforts in renewable energy development.
Under the agreement, the firms will join hands on the set-up of ground-mounted and floating solar projects in many locations, comprising the Rihand reservoir and other suitable water bodies and land areas.
Additionally, the solar projects, the partnership intends to solarize Ayodhya City through the development of assigned solar photovoltaic projects.
This initiative highlights both companies’ commitment to boosting clean and sustainable energy solutions.
The official statement, ‘’NGEL and UPRVUNL shall jointly work for the formation of Joint Venture Company (JVC) to meet the renewable generation obligation, flexibility in generation and scheduling of thermal/hydro power stations through bundling with renewable energy and energy storage”.
NTPC is India’s greatest power utility with an established capacity of around 72 GW. NGEL is a wholly-owned subsidiary to work upon Renewable Energy Parks and Projects.
UPRVUNL was formed and set up to operate power-generating stations in the state of Uttar Pradesh.
Currently, UPRVUNL has four thermal power stations within Uttar Pradesh with an established capacity of 5,820 MW and one thermal power station with an installed capacity of 1,320 MW under JV with NTPC.
It is in the procedure of expanding a further 3,300 MW capacity with complex technology on its own and another 1,980 MW in Joint Ventures with Central Public Sector Enterprises.
