NTPC Ltd., India’s largest power utility, announced the commercial operation of an additional 90 MW capacity at its Dayapar Wind Energy Project Phase-I in Gujarat, marking a key milestone in the company’s renewable energy journey.
The newly commissioned capacity is part of the 150 MW Dayapar Wind Energy Project Phase-I located in Bhuj, Gujarat, developed under the 450 MW Hybrid Renewable Energy Project by NTPC Renewable Energy Ltd. (NTPC REL), a step-down subsidiary of NTPC Ltd., through NTPC Green Energy Ltd. (NGEL).
According to the official filing with stock exchanges, the 90 MW capacity has been declared commercially operational effective April 9, 2025, following its successful commissioning. NTPC had earlier declared the commercial operation of the first 50 MW capacity from this project on November 4, 2023.
With this latest addition, NTPC Group’s total installed and commercial capacity has now reached 80,020 MW, reinforcing its position as a leading contributor to India’s clean energy goals.
The 450 MW hybrid project aligns with NTPC’s commitment to expanding its renewable energy portfolio and achieving the Government of India’s ambitious target of 500 GW non-fossil capacity by 2030.
