NLC India Forms NIGEL to Drive Green Energy Projects and Carbon Emission Reduction

NLC India Ltd announced the establishment of a wholly owned subsidiary, NLC India Green Energy Ltd (NIGEL), to oversee and execute green energy initiatives.
 
NIGEL is tasked with planning, participating in upcoming renewable energy tenders, and handling the execution and commissioning of green energy projects, as stated by NLC India Ltd (NLCIL).
 
NLCIL's Chairman and Managing Director, Prasanna Kumar Motupalli, expressed NIGEL's commitment to achieving a capacity of 5 GW by 2030 and contributing significantly to carbon emission reduction. This move underscores NLCIL's dedication to environmental sustainability and the growth of renewable energy in India.
 
Currently, NIGEL is poised to take up the implementation of 2 GW of renewable energy projects, including a 600 MW solar power project in Gujarat and an 810 MW solar photovoltaic power project in Rajasthan.
 
The company's registered office is located in Chennai, and it is set to initiate business operations in the near future.
