NHPC Launches EPC Tenders for 300 MW and 50 MW Floating Solar in Odisha and Kerala Respectively

The Indian government hydropower board has invited domestic bids to set up a cumulative 350 MW of floating solar power capacity.

NHPC Ltd., on behalf of joint venture to be formed between NHPC Ltd. and GEDCOL, invites online bids through domestic competitive bidding in single stage-two-part bidding basis with e-reverse auction to develop a 300 MW floating solar power project in Odisha on a turnkey basis. The two-part bidding has part-I as QR+technical-bid and part-II as financial bid.

The Engineering, Procurement & Construction (EPC) contract is for development of 300 MW capacity floating solar power project at Rengali Reservoir in Angul and associated 220 KV transmission line for connectivity at 400 KV grid substation along with comprehensive operation and maintenance for five years. While the bidding closes on May 17, the EPC completion period including commissioning is 21 months.

According to the reports, an earnest money deposit of INR 100 million needs to be submitted by the bidders. The selected bidder needs to submit 3 percent of the contract value as a performance security.

Meanwhile, NHPC has launched EPC tenders for a 50 MW floating solar project at West Kallada in the Kollam district of Kerala. The bidding for this closes on May 18 and the EPC completion period is 15 months including the commissioning period.
