NHAI Invites Bids for Solar Highway Lighting in Andhra Pradesh
NHAI invites e-tenders for solar lighting at 104 blackspot locations across Andhra Pradesh highways. The INR 13.19 Crore project aims to enhance road safety. Eligible bidders must meet criteria, including prior experience and financial qualifications, within six months.

The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has invited bids through ‘e-tendering mode’ from experienced firms/organisations for the installation of solar highway lighting at 104 locations across national highways in Andhra Pradesh.
The project aims to enhance road safety and reduce accidents by addressing MoRT&H-identified blackspots and accident-prone areas. Bidders should not have any prior non-performance record or blacklisting by NHAI.
The locations for the lighting installation include four specific sections, viz. (i) from Km 741.255 to Km 901+500 on the Anakapalli-Annavaram-Diwancheruvu section of NH-16, (ii) from Km 901+500 to Km 1022.494 on the Diwancheruvu-Siddhantham-Gundugolanu section of NH-216A, (iii) from Km 15.320 to Km 85.204 on the Gundugolanu-Devarapalli-Kovvuru section of NH-16, and (iv) from Km 0.000 to Km 27.500 on the Kathipudi to the start of the Kakinada Bypass section of NH-216. The total estimated cost of the project is INR 13.19 crore, excluding GST.
As per the document, bidders are required to meet certain eligibility criteria, including a bid security of INR 0.27 crore (2 percent of the bid value) and a minimum average turnover of INR 4.40 crore (excluding GST) over the last three years.
Additionally, bidders should have experience in similar works, with either one work worth INR 10.55 crore, two works of INR 6.60 crore, or three works of INR 5.28 crore. The project is to be completed within 6 months.
