New Report Claims Red States Rising in US in Solar and Wind

As per the report, Red states like Texas and Oklahoma, among others, are chief as the United States in producing wind and solar energy. US produced 683,130 gigawatt-hours (GWh) of electricity from solar and wind previous year, up from 588,471 GWh in 2021.

US has inculcated the mission to decarbonize the grid fully by 2030 and achieving to net zero emissions by mid-century. The share of wind energy more than twice, from 15% to 34%, whereas gas production has declined from 49% to 34% in the period of five years.

US produced 683,130 GWh of electricity from solar and wind previous year reportedly, as per Climate Central’s source, up from 588,471 GWh in 2021. The report describes that solar generation is definitely seen as highest in the summer, and wind energy at utmost in spring and fall.

Moreover, state and federal incentives were prime forces for the annual growth in the sector of renewable energy generation. Academicians and researchers in consensus says that the major step to rise in wind and solar capacity is producing numerous transmission lines.

In the year 2021, there were more than 8,100 projects across the US seeking authentic confirmation to link to the grid that exists and operates at capacity. Around 90% of the energy projects are in line to be linked to the grid such as for wind, solar and battery storage.

There are some valid causes about the wind energy has evolved enormously in Texas. No doubt, the state is active in generating transmission lines to conduct wind power to industries and homes, which enables future-ready farms that can link to this grid.
