NBPDCL Commissions 2x10 MVA GIS Substation under Govt’s IPDS Scheme in Bihar

North Bihar Power Distribution Co Ltd (NBPDCL) has commissioned the 2x10 MVA GIS Substation in Purnia, Bihar under the Government of India's IPDS scheme.

North Bihar Power Distribution Co Ltd (NBPDCL) has commissioned the 2x10 MVA GIS Substation in Purnia, Bihar under the IPDS scheme of the Government of India.

The Substation was inaugurated during a ceremony as part of ‘Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav’ celebrations marking 75 years of India’s independence.

Moreover, the state-owned lender Power Finance Corporation (PFC) has been the nodal agency for the project, the inauguration ceremony was attended by officials from both NBPDCL and PFC.

Earlier in 2018, the 2x10 MVA GIS Substation for Purnia was sanctioned under IPDS scheme with sanctioned cost of Rs 8.99 crore, with grant of Rs 5.40 crore from Government of India.

Further, the GIS Substation was completed on April 06, 2021, after overcoming all the challenges posed by the prevailing Covid situation.

Now, the GIS Substation is expected to benefit approx 3.26 lakh people of Purnia and the surrounding areas. It will further reduce the land requirement and will lower the operational and maintenance cost and will also provide safe working environment for the attending personnel.
