Masen the renewable energy agency of Morocco, declared that six consortiums had successfully pre-qualified for the progression of Noor Midelt II, a 400-megawatt solar power amenity located in the Atlas mountains.
The pre-qualified joint ventures for the building of the Noor Midelt II solar plant in the Atlas Mountains include a series of industrial entrepreneurs.
Among them are Cobra Servicios, Communicaciones y Energia from Spain, EDF Renouvelables from France, Enel Green Power from Italy, Iberdrola Renovables International from Spain, International Power from Belgium, and Acwa Power from Saudi Arabia.
This diverse group of firms shows global interest and commitment toward the realization of Morocco’s aspirational renewable energy goals.
The scope of the project indulges the development of a cutting-edge photovoltaic power plant equipped with a two-hour storage capacity.
This newer approach intends to raise the reliability and stability of the energy generated, ensuring a consistent power supply even during periods of minimised solar irradiation.
By integrating advanced storage technology, the plant will optimize energy utilisation, providing a more efficient integration of renewable sources into the grid and further strengthening Morocco’s position in sustainable energy solutions.
This visionary initiative represents a significant milestone in advancing Morocco’s renewable energy landscape and underscores the nation’s commitment to harnessing innovative solutions for sustainable power generation.
