MNRE Sanctions INR 719 Crore Project for Evacuation of 4,000 MW RE Project in Tamil Nadu
As per the ministry, the project is under the process of execution by the state agency Tamil Nadu Transmission Corporation Limited (TANTRANSCO).

The Union Minister for New & Renewable Energy and Power has informed that under Green Energy Corridor Phase-II, a project has been allotted for establishing 624 ckm of transmission lines and 2200 MVA capacity substations by FY 2025-26, for evacuation of RE power of approximately 4000 MW capacity in the state of Tamil Nadu.
The project has been sanctioned by the MNRE, at an estimated cost of INR 719.76 crore with a central government grant of INR 237.52 crore at 33 percent of the project cost.
Under Green Energy Corridor Phase-I, TANTRANSCO declared the completion of the sanctioned project for establishing 1068 ckm transmission lines and 1910 MVA capacity substations on October 31, 2022, for which the Ministry has already declared a grant of INR 524.30 crore to TANTRANSCO.
As per the ministry, the project is under the process of execution by the state agency Tamil Nadu Transmission Corporation Limited (TANTRANSCO).
The project is set to reinforce the green energy corridor initiative and expedite the adoption of sustainable energy solutions.
