MNRE Announces SECI, NTPC to Commission Tender of 15 GW each and NHPC, SJVN for 10 GW each in FY24
The commissioning time period is of 18-24 months; the tender plan will expand 250 GW of capacity by the fiscal year 2028.

According to the Ministry of New & Renewable Energy’s (MNRE) tendering course for RE projects, the Ministry will move forward proposal for 50 GW of RE project capacity, containing 10 GW of wind energy, yearly till fiscal year 2028.
The commissioning time period is of 18-24 months; the tender plan will expand 250 GW of capacity by the fiscal year 2028.
Out of the four public sector units (PSUs) designated as Renewable Energy Implementing Agencies (REIAs), the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) and NTPC will start the tender of 15 GW each of solar, wind, hybrid and round-the-clock (RTC) projects during the present financial year.
Correspondingly, hydro power generators NHPC and SJVN will commission renewable energy (RE) projects tenders of 10 GW each in FY24.
Moreover, the Ministry also announced a quarterly plan for the bids in FY24, which includes tenders of 15 GW of RE capacity each in the first two quarters of FY24, and tenders for another 10 GW each of capacity to be commissioned during the month of October-December and January-March period.
Considerably, the target is to attain the 500 GW target by the year 2030.
