MNRE has taken a crucial move in augmenting the Approved List of Module Manufacturers (ALMM) scheme by permitting two Indian solar module manufacturers to add new models.
Emmvee Photovoltaic Power and Bluebird Photovoltaic Power have gained the opportunity to include additional modules in the list.
Emmvee Photovoltaic Power has secured approval to add six new mono-c-Silicon PERC modules to its listing. These newly enlisted modules appear in three different models, attributing 144 cut cells, 108 cut cells, and 132 cut cells, respectively.
Bluebird Photovoltaic Power can now comprise three new mono c-silicon modules, attributing 120 half-cut cells, 132 half-cut cells, and 144 half-cut cells.
The MNRE shed light on these additional models that have been provisionally added to the list, and their final enlistment in ALMM is subject to the applicants meeting the specified conditions mentioned in the ALMM orders. The ministry recently introduced reforms to the scheme as part of its latest ALMM list revision on May 31, 2023.
Through the introduced regulations, solar PV modules must comply with the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) and fulfill specific minimum module efficiency needs to qualify for enlistment.
The step aims to boost the deployment of high-quality solar PV modules and assist the growth of renewable energy in India.
