Ratlam-based Malpani Pipes & Fittings Ltd. has announced the installation of a state-of-the-art 1,136.34 kWP rooftop solar power plant at its manufacturing facility in Ratlam, Madhya Pradesh.

The rooftop solar installation spans the company's expansive 1,50,000 sq. ft. premises, which includes a constructed area of approximately 80,000 sq. ft. This strategic investment not only aligns with the company's long-term vision for sustainable manufacturing but also reinforces its commitment to environmental responsibility, the company said in a statement.

It further stated that the commissioning of the project is set to begin in May and is expected to be completed by the end of August, with benefits anticipated to begin reflecting in the 2nd half of fiscal year 2025-26.

Commenting on the development, Rohit Malpani, Managing Director of Malpani Pipes & Fittings Ltd. said, “Our factory's substantial electricity consumption requires a strategic approach to cost management. Given the rising trend in electricity prices, this solar power plant is expected to significantly strengthen our cash flow. By reducing power costs, we foresee a meaningful improvement in the company's overall profitability in the years ahead.”

The company has stated that the solar panels will be strategically mounted on the rooftop of the factory shed, allowing the company to harness clean, renewable energy for its day-to-day manufacturing operations.

“The project is estimated to generate approximately 12,50,000 units of electricity annually, resulting in a projected annual cost saving of INR 87.50 lakh. According to internal projections, the investment cost is expected to be recovered within the first four years of operation,” it said.

With this initiative, Malpani Pipes & Fittings takes a definitive step toward reducing its carbon footprint and promoting cleaner energy use in the plastics manufacturing sector.
