Maharashtra Government Inks MoU for 5220 MW Renewable Power Projects in Maharashtra
As per an official statement, INR 41,000 crore will be outlay and about 6,760 jobs will be generated, through the MoU.

The Maharashtra government inked a Memorandum of Understandings with Mahatma Phule Agricultural University, Mahaurja and Sutlej Jal Vidyut Nigam Limited (SJVN) for the development of 5,220 MW renewable energy projects in the state.
As per an official statement, INR 41,000 crore will be outlay and about 6,760 jobs will be generated, through the MoU.
Devendra Fadnavis, Deputy CM & Power Minister of Maharashtra and Principal Secretary of Energy, intended the relevant agencies to accelerate the work of continuing solar power projects in the state.
He added, “Central and state governments are promoting renewable energy projects. By 2030, 50 percent of the installed capacity is to be met by renewable energy. Energy stability requires large amounts of energy storage. For this purpose, Mahanirmiti should speed up the construction of solar, water, wind and solar power projects in the state”.
An official stated, in order to fulfill the rising demand for electricity in the state and to facilitate ample amounts of electricity to farmers, the state government has devised a policy to execute solar power projects.
In the meeting, the revised budget for the fiscal year 2022-23 and the proposed annual budget for the fiscal year 2023-24 of Mahaurja were also approved.
