MAHAGENCO Crosses 10,000 Mw Power Generation Mark

As the mandate for electricity rises with temperature spiraling, MAHAGENCO (Maharashtra power generation company) has announced that it has traversed the record 10,000 MW generation mark.

“Around 1.30 pm today, generation through our power plants touched 10,066 MW mark, a first in its history,” Mahagenco said in a statement. The total power demand in the state also touched one of its record high—22,300 MW.

"Though the demand for power has gone up substantially, the state has managed well in terms of generation and thus there will not be any load-shedding or shortage of power even if the demand grows further," said a senior official. —Chittaranjan Tembhekar.
