Madhya Pradesh government is ramping up its effort to make the state a manufacturing hub – especially for renewable energy equipment and components. The government has received proposals from multiple solar PV modules, cells and other solar panel component manufacturers to set up plants in the state.

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav recently distributed land allotment letters for various solar manufacturing projects in the Mohasa-Babai industrial area of Narmadapuram district.

Ahmedabad-based Grew Energy has been allocated 60 acres for a PV cell and module facility with a proposed INR 2,540 crore investment.
Jaipur-based Insolation Green Energy (INA Solar) has been allocated 45 acres. The company plans to set up plants for 3 GW solar cells, 4 GW of solar modules and 24,000 MT aluminium frame there. with an investment of approximately INR 1,800 crore. This will be INA Solar’s fourth manufacturing facility and its first outside of Rajasthan and will be executed in two phases.

Hyderabad-based Premier Energies Global Environment and Gurugram-based Saatvik Solar Industries have been allocated 50 acres each. While Premier Energies plans to set up a silicon ingots/wafers plant, Saatvik will set up a plant to manufacture PV cells/modules.

Jaipur-based Rays Green Energy Manufacturing, a subsidiary of Rays Power Infra, will be setting up a 1.5 GW solar cell and 3 GW solar module manufacturing facility in Madhya Pradesh, with an estimated investment of INR 1,400 crore. The company was allocated about 45 acres of land for the same.

Other beneficiaries include Sunkind Photovoltaics, Shakti Energy Solutions, and Alpex Solar for PV modules and cells.

Earlier this month, the Madhya Pradesh Cabinet approved expanding Industrial Area Mohasa-Babai in Narmadapuram to 884 acres, by allocating an additional 442 acres, to boost the manufacturing of electrical and renewable energy equipment.

The state government has established the manufacturing zone to streamline land allotment and approvals while offering advanced infrastructure and shared testing facilities, aiming to significantly reduce manufacturing costs and enhance the competitiveness of the domestic industry.
