L&T Dispatches Fourth Steam Generator to Kaiga Atomic Power Station
L&T has dispatched the fourth Steam Generator to Kaiga Atomic Power Station, completing one unit's set. The delivery was made nine months ahead of schedule, supporting India’s indigenous nuclear energy ambitions.

The Heavy Engineering arm of Larsen & Toubro (L&T) has successfully dispatched the fourth Steam Generator (SG) to the Kaiga Atomic Power Station in Karnataka.
As per the firm's statement, this marks the completion of a full set of four Steam Generators for one unit of the indigenously developed 10x700 MWe Pressurised Heavy Water Reactor (PHWR) Fleet Programme, aligned with India’s expanding nuclear energy vision.
L&T’s latest delivery stands out not only for its scale but also for its speed and precision. The fourth steam generator was dispatched nine months ahead of the contractual schedule, showcasing L&T’s commitment to excellence and timely project execution. The entire set of four SGs was delivered within 45 months, with the first unit shipped in a record 33 months, setting new global benchmarks in nuclear equipment manufacturing and delivery.
The dispatch ceremony was held at L&T’s A. M. Naik Heavy Engineering Complex in Hazira, Gujarat, and was attended by senior officials from the Nuclear Power Corporation of India Ltd. (NPCIL).
Speaking on the occasion, Anil V Parab, Whole-time Director & Senior Executive Vice President,Heavy Engineering and L&T Valves, said, "L&T Heavy Engineering nuclear team continues to be the industry trend-setter. Our large talent pool, trained in a robust nuclear quality culture, ensures consistent first-time-right execution and globally benchmarked deliveries. This accomplishment is in alignment with the Honourable PM’s Viksit Bharat 2047 vision of achieving at least 100 GWe nuclear power generation.”
