Kundan Green Energy Announces Commissioning of Luni Hydropower Plant in Himachal Pradesh

Kundan Green Energy has commissioned its Luni hydropower plant in Himachal Pradesh, built at a cost of INR 75 crore, bringing the company's total hydropower capacity to 85 MW.

Kundan Green Energy has announced the commissioning of its hydropower plant at Luni in Himachal Pradesh. Created at a cost of approximately INR 75 crore, the project was awarded in September 2022.

Commenting on the development, Udit Garg, Director and CEO, Kundan Green Energy said, “With its commissioning in a record 24 months, we are delighted to present the Luni HEP project to the country. It once again demonstrates our practiced commitment to speed, quality, technology and teamwork benchmarked to the world’s best. Emblematic of the best suited source of green energy, hydropower has very vast untapped potential, which we are working to develop as we contribute to the country’s energy transition.”
 
He further added that the Luni hydropower plant will bring operating hydropower capacities of Kundan Green Energy to 85 MW. Adding the existing solar- and wind-based installed generation projects, the total commissioned and functioning projects of Kundan Green Energy as on date stand at a capacity of 120.5 MW.

Kundan Green Energy and its subsidiaries have four operational hydro power plants in Sikkim and three more are under construction, with larger capacities, the company informed.
