Gujarat-based solar and hybrid power generating company KPI Green Energy has announced that the company has won a tender from Coal India Ltd. to set up a grid-connected 300 MWAC ground-mounted solar PV plant at GIPCL’s solar park in Khavda, Gujarat.
The company will also be responsible for the operation and maintenance of the plant for 5 years.
The tender for this project was issued in September 2024.
The scope of work encompasses design, engineering, procurement, supply of equipment and materials, erection, testing, and commissioning of the project. It also includes supplying, packing, forwarding, and transporting PV modules to Khavda Solar Park, along with transit insurance for crystalline solar modules specified for a 1500V system voltage, including their nominal wattage and dimensions.
According to the tender document, the plant must achieve a Capacity Utilization Factor (CUF) of 28 percent, translating to a minimum net electrical energy generation guarantee (NEEGG) of 73,584,000 units in the first year.
“We are immensely proud to share that this order is closely aligned with our strategic vision and our ambitious target of achieving 10 GW capacity by 2030. The magnitude of this LOA is a testament to the trust and confidence placed in our company’s technical expertise, capabilities, and commitment to delivering high-quality, sustainable energy solutions. Furthermore, we are proud that this marks our first major order from a central government entity, marking a significant milestone in our growth and solidifying our presence in the national renewable energy sector,” shared the company in a regulatory filing.
