KK Wind Solutions, a EUR 1 billion company under A.P. Moller Holding, has deepened its presence in India by opening a new state-of-the-art factory and offices in Bengaluru.
As per the firm's statement, the move marks a key milestone in the company’s global expansion strategy and reflects its growing commitment to India’s clean energy transition.
The newly inaugurated manufacturing facility is KK Wind Solutions’ largest in Asia and is expected to create up to 400 jobs. It will serve as a vital node in the company’s global supply chain, catering to customers both in the region and internationally. Alongside the factory, the company also unveiled a new office in the city, which will house 150 employees handling global shared services.
The launch event was attended by Eske Bo Knudsen Rosenberg, Consul General of Denmark in Bengaluru, along with senior leadership from KK Wind Solutions, customers, and key partners.
“India is rapidly becoming a global hub in the wind energy value chain, and Bengaluru stood out as the natural choice for our expansion,” said Mauricio Quintana, CEO of KK Wind Solutions. “This new facility strengthens our ability to deliver top-tier power control and converter solutions globally while tapping into India’s vast engineering talent," he added.
The announcement comes amid growing cooperation between Denmark and India under the Green Strategic Partnership, which aims to foster sustainable growth, green innovation, and clean tech trade between the two nations. India’s ambitious target of achieving 99 GW of wind energy by 2030 will require a doubling of the current installed capacity within just five years.
“As a Danish-founded global company, we are proud to support this partnership by creating jobs, transferring expertise, and contributing to the acceleration of renewable energy,” added Quintana.
Highlighting the strategic significance of the investment, Consul General Eske Bo Rosenberg said, “The expansion of KK Wind Solutions showcases the strength of the India-Denmark green partnership. India’s renewable energy targets are ambitious, and we’re committed to supporting them through collaboration and innovation. KK’s investment, creating over 500 jobs in Bengaluru, reflects India’s rising role as a key player in clean technology manufacturing.”
With its expanded footprint, KK Wind Solutions is poised to play a larger role in India’s clean energy journey while reinforcing the deepening green ties between India and Denmark.
