In a strategic move to bolster Oman’s electric vehicle (EV) infrastructure, TEAMS International LLC has signed a sales and service partnership agreement with Kempower, a firm providing DC fast charging solutions.

The collaboration marks a significant step toward expanding the Sultanate’s EV charging capabilities and accelerating the adoption of clean transportation in alignment with Oman Vision 2040.

Under this agreement, TEAMS International will serve as Kempower’s exclusive sales and service partner in Oman. The company will be responsible for the distribution, installation, and maintenance of Kempower’s cutting-edge DC fast charging systems across the country. The partnership reinforces TEAMS International’s role as a key enabler of Oman’s energy transition and sustainability goals.

“This partnership represents a major milestone in Kempower’s expansion across the GCC region,” said Carlo Cecchi, Director of New Markets at Kempower. “With the joining of TEAMS International, Kempower reinforces its presence in the Gulf, adding competence, expertise, and customer focus. We are thrilled to embark on this journey together, making our reliable DC fast charging solutions accessible to EV drivers in Oman and supporting the country’s decarbonisation efforts," he added.

The collaboration aims to strengthen Oman’s nationwide EV charging network by prioritising the deployment of Kempower’s fast DC chargers at commercial fuel stations and fleet hubs. With Oman’s vast road network and government-backed plans for electric buses and heavy-duty vehicles, robust fast-charging infrastructure is essential to address range anxiety and encourage widespread EV adoption.

A ministerial decision issued in November 2023 mandates all commercial fuel stations in Oman to include EV charging facilities. In support of this directive, the Authority for Public Services Regulation (APSR) has released technical guidelines to ensure the safe and effective rollout of EV charging points, with DC fast charging (Mode 4) identified as the preferred method for rapid recharging.

Sridhar Sharma, Managing Director of TEAMS International LLC, expressed enthusiasm about the alliance, stating, “We are excited to collaborate with Kempower, a leader in DC Fast Charging known for its advanced technology and dynamic power sharing capabilities. We want our end users and operators to benefit from the modularity and scalability offered by Kempower DC chargers.”

The partnership plans to extend the charging network to key strategic locations across the Sultanate to cater to the rising demand for electric mobility. The initiative supports Oman’s broader energy ambitions, which include substantial investments in renewable energy and power infrastructure.

According to market projections, Oman’s power market is expected to grow from 16.36 GW in 2025 to 20.29 GW by 2030, registering a CAGR of 4.4 percent. The growth is driven by the expansion of renewable energy projects and more than 30 planned transmission developments by 2024. Oman’s installed renewable capacity has already surged from 205 MW in 2021 to 722 MW in 2023, with continued momentum fueled by strong governmental support.

The TEAMS International–Kempower partnership is poised to play a vital role in shaping a more sustainable and electrified future for Oman, empowering the nation’s journey toward net-zero emissions and a greener economy.
