Jupiter International Wins Green Urja Award for Excellence in Solar Cell Manufacturing

Jupiter International Ltd. has won the 5th Green Urja Award in the Solar Cell Manufacturing category at the 13th Green Energy Summit, recognising its excellence in scaling domestic solar manufacturing. Over the next 3 years, the company plans to achieve 3 GW of wafer production, 9.4 GW of solar cell capacity, and 6 GW of module assembly.

Jupiter International Ltd., an integrated solar solutions company, has been honoured with the 5th Green Urja Award in the Solar Cell Manufacturing category at the 13th Green Energy Summit (GES). The Green Urja Energy Efficiency Awards ceremony was held at Le Meridien, New Delhi, recognising pioneering contributions to India’s renewable energy landscape through innovation and excellence in solar manufacturing.

“This recognition cements Jupiter International’s leadership position in India’s rapidly growing renewable energy sector. The award highlights the company's significant strides in scaling domestic solar manufacturing, enhancing energy efficiency, and supporting India’s ambition for self-reliance in clean energy generation,” the company said in a statement.

The summit gathered industry leaders from the solar, wind, hydro, and emerging energy technology sectors, discussing critical topics like solar PV equipment manufacturing, energy storage solutions, and base load power challenges. Jupiter International stood out for its advanced manufacturing capabilities, which are integral to strengthening India’s solar value chain and reducing import dependency.

Established in 2008, Jupiter International has become a key player in the solar industry, recognised for its advanced technology, local manufacturing expertise, and commitment to quality. “With an existing 1 GW manufacturing facility in Himachal Pradesh, the company aims to redefine solar manufacturing leadership by driving innovation and growth, while upholding quality and sustainability,” it stated.

The statement further noted, “Over the next three years, Jupiter International aims to establish itself as a fully integrated company in solar manufacturing, with its ambitious plans to achieve 3 GW of wafer production, 9.4 GW of solar cell capacity, and 6 GW of module assembly.”

As India accelerates its clean energy transition, recognitions like the Green Urja Award further strengthen Jupiter International’s leadership in driving innovation, sustainability, and growth in the renewable energy sector.
