Juniper Green Energy, Jakson Green, and RIH Renewables (EDF Renewables) have secured contracts in Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam’s (GUVNL) latest auction to supply power from 200 MW of grid-connected wind power projects (Phase VIII) in India.

The tender was issued in July, this year for a capacity of 500 MW. GUVNL, however, reduced the capacity later to 200 MW.

Juniper Green Energy emerged as the L1 bidder with a quoted tariff of INR 3.56/kWh and won 50 MW. RIH Renewables (EDF Renewables) has won 40 MW at a tariff of INR 3.59/kWh. Jackson Green has been awarded 50 MW at a tariff of INR 3.63/kWh.

As per the provisions laid out in the tender, each developer is responsible for project setup, transmission network connectivity, and obtaining necessary permits.

GUVNL will now finalise 25-year power purchase agreements with these winners.
