Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company’s (MSEDCL) auction of 1650 MW wind-solar hybrid projects has attracted a tariff of INR 3.60/kWh with JSW Neo Energy, Tata Power Renewable Energy, Juniper Green Energy and Avaada Energy emerging as winners.

MSEDCL floated the tender in July this year for the supply of 1,650 MW of wind-solar hybrid power on a long-term basis from grid-connected intrastate projects with a greenshoe option of up to 1,650 MW.

In the initial round, JSW Neo Energy secured 200 MW at INR 3.60/kWh, Juniper won 75 MW at INR 3.65/kWh, Tata Power received 200 MW at INR 3.68/kWh, and Avaada was awarded 13 MW at INR 3.69/kWh.

Tata Power matched the lowest tariff (L1) of INR 3.60/kWh for its 200 MW capacity. Under the greenshoe option, JSW Neo offered an additional 400 MW, and Tata Power another 200 MW at the same rate. Later, Avaada and Juniper Green also matched the INR 3.60/kWh tariff, offering 500 MW and 150 MW, respectively.

Overall, JSW Neo won 600 MW, Tata Power Renewable got 400 MW. Avaada Energy and Juniper Green Energy were awarded 500 MW and 150 MW each respectively.
